David O'Reilly // THE EXTERNAL WORLD

David O'Reilly is known for his crude nature and odd imagination; but even this animation is pushing it... I love it. The animation is a mixture of (sometimes) entwining stories and tales told in his sick twisted comical nature. The artistic style is lovely, full of wonderful colours and textures and paired with soft childish shapes and insulting sounds. An absolute joy to the eyes, in my opinion. Although, I wouldn't recommend sitting your baby sister down to watch this 'cartoon' just yet. One story involves a character being mentally scared by witnessing a suicide then whilst 'cured' from his tremor, is unable to see the 'bad times'; resulting in the character taking a shower, whilst someone slits their wrists under him in the bathtub and bleeds out. Defiantly not a cartoon for young children, or children in general; but when it's David, when is his word appropriate? Then again, he did direct and partly animate the adventure time episode '' A glitch is a glitch'' However that episode is very much disliked by most of the adventure time fan base, for its 'artistic' art style.
